Privacy Policy
Small Block LLC ("WhichMethod")
Last Updated: January 5, 2026
Our Privacy Commitment
We designed WhichMethod to collect as little data as possible.
Unlike most web applications, we intentionally do not collect or store your assessment answers, your email address (in the free tier), or any personal information—unless you make a purchase. This isn't a limitation; it's a deliberate choice to protect your privacy and maintain the integrity of our assessment process.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we do and don't collect, and why.
Quick Summary
| Data Type | Do We Collect It? | Where Is It Stored? |
|---|---|---|
| Assessment answers | No | Your device only (localStorage) |
| Email (free assessment) | No | Your device only (localStorage) |
| Email (if you purchase) | Yes | Stripe (payment processor) |
| Payment information | No | Stripe only (we never see your card) |
| Anonymous analytics | Yes | Vercel (our hosting provider) |
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
1.1 Assessment Responses
Your answers to our assessment questions are stored exclusively in your web browser's localStorage on your device. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Why? We believe your goal-setting constraints and personal circumstances are private. We also want to ensure the integrity of our assessment—by not collecting your answers, we cannot "game" our matching algorithm based on user data. The process stays pure and trustworthy.
1.2 Email Address (Free Tier)
When you complete the free assessment, you may enter an email address. This email is stored only in your browser's localStorage for your convenience (e.g., if you return later to make a purchase). We do not receive, collect, or store this email address.
1.3 Payment Card Details
We never see, collect, or store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVV. All payment processing is handled directly by Stripe. Your payment information goes from your browser to Stripe's secure servers—we are not in the middle of that transaction.
2. Information We DO Collect
2.1 Payment Information (Purchasers Only)
When you make a purchase, our payment processor Stripe collects and shares the following information with us:
- Email address
- Name (as provided to Stripe)
- Transaction details (amount, date, payment status)
- Country (for tax purposes)
Why? We need this information to:
- Confirm your purchase was successful
- Provide customer support if you have questions
- Process refunds if requested
- Comply with legal and tax requirements
2.2 Anonymous Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics, provided by our hosting platform, to understand how the Service is used. This includes:
- Page views and traffic patterns
- Device type and browser (anonymized)
- Geographic region (country/city level, not precise location)
- Referral sources
What Vercel Analytics does NOT include:
- No personal identifiers
- No tracking cookies
- No cross-site tracking
- No custom event tracking
- No user session recordings
3. How We Use Your Information
For purchasers, we use your information only for:
| Purpose | Data Used |
|---|---|
| Order fulfillment | Email, transaction details |
| Customer support | Email, purchase history |
| Refund processing | Email, transaction details |
| Legal compliance | Transaction records |
We do not use your information for:
- Marketing emails (unless you explicitly opt in)
- Selling to third parties
- Advertising or ad targeting
- User profiling or behavior analysis
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
4.1 Stripe (Payment Processing)
Stripe processes all payments. When you make a purchase, you are providing your payment information directly to Stripe. Stripe's use of your information is governed by their privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
4.2 Vercel (Hosting and Analytics)
Vercel hosts our website and provides anonymous analytics. Vercel's privacy policy: https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
We do not use:
- Advertising networks
- Social media tracking pixels
- Third-party analytics beyond Vercel
- Customer data platforms
- Email marketing services (as of this writing)
5. Data Retention
5.1 Local Data (Your Device)
Data stored in your browser's localStorage remains until you clear your browser data or uninstall the browser. We have no access to this data and cannot delete it on your behalf.
5.2 Payment Records
Transaction records are retained as required by law for tax and accounting purposes, typically for 7 years. We may retain customer support correspondence for quality and training purposes.
5.3 Analytics Data
Vercel retains analytics data according to their data retention policies. This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you.
6. Data Security
6.1 Our Approach
Our primary security measure is not collecting data in the first place. Data that doesn't exist cannot be breached.
For the limited data we do handle (purchaser information via Stripe), we rely on Stripe's industry-leading security practices, including PCI DSS compliance and encryption.
6.2 Your Responsibility
Because your assessment data is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for the security of that device. If you share your device or browser with others, they may be able to access your stored assessment data.
7. Your Rights
7.1 Access and Deletion
- Local data: You can view your stored assessment data in your browser's developer tools (localStorage). You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data.
- Purchase data: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you (your email and purchase history) by contacting us at support@onesmallblock.com.
- Deletion requests: You may request deletion of your purchaser data by contacting us. Note that we may retain certain information as required by law.
7.2 California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including:
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to delete personal information
- Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@onesmallblock.com.
7.3 European Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
9. International Data Transfers
The Service is operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

12. Why We Built It This Way
We want to be transparent about our philosophy: the best way to protect your data is not to collect it.
Many companies collect user data because they can, because it might be useful someday, or because they want to monetize it. We chose a different path. WhichMethod works without knowing who you are, what your goals are, or how you answered our questions.
When you use WhichMethod, your assessment lives on your device. It's yours. We never see it.
If you choose to pay for advanced features, we know only what's necessary to process your payment and help you if something goes wrong. Nothing more.
This isn't just a policy—it's how we built the product from day one.
